A Good Letter

What to put in it

A good letter is short, specific and cheerful about being wrong. If you have found a mistake in the rules, tell us the page, the heading and the sentence, then say what you think it should read. If two rules disagree, quote both. If a table of yours has done something clever, we want that more than anything, particularly if it ended with a litany that nobody had planned for.

For rules questions, tell us the degree, the vow and the situation. The answer to “can I cast it twice?” depends on the rank, the timing and whether it was a reaction, and it is rarely the answer the table hoped for. We will answer when we can, and where we are unsure, we will say so.

Please do not send anything you would not want an inbox to hold. This site has no accounts, no mailing list and no tracking, so there is nothing to sign up to and nothing to opt out of. A letter is just a letter.

Questions Often Asked

Before you write

Is this a complete game?

No. It is a class supplement. It states every rule it uses, but it assumes your table already has the shape of a d20 game: a twenty-sided die, Difficulties to beat, and a Game Master to say which is which.

Can I use it with another system?

Very probably. Rename Vigor, Guard and Fervor to whatever your system calls its hit points, armour and spell resource, and adjust the numbers to taste. The litanies are written to need very little translation.

Does the site save my characters?

Only in your own browser, on your own device. Characters, the dice ledger and half-written forms stay there and go nowhere else. Clearing your browser data, or using a private window, will wipe them, so print the sheet if you want to keep one.

Is this connected to any publisher or setting?

No. The Warpriest is an original, independent work. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or derived from any publisher, game line or setting, and it names none.

How do I report a mistake?

Use the letter above and choose the topic “A correction or erratum”. Quote the page, the heading and the sentence. A mistake reported kindly is a mistake that gets fixed more kindly.
